Construction Solutions, Boss Projects Group and Cupolex are proud to be part of the first steps in the construction to help lower our impact on the urban environment. With a vision to showcase exciting, sustainable and environmentally responsible design, the Suburban Land Agency and Boss Projects Group have utilised the Cupolex void forming system at the new Whitlam display village and information centre. Through the engagement with environmentally conscious design practises and policies, the Whitlam display village provides an excellent example of what can be achieved with sustainable construction solutions within Australia.

The Cupolex technology is a 100% recycled plastic, environmentally friendly alternative to wafflepods and raft slab foundations. Cupolex uses a strong, lightweight dome formwork structure that has low comparative freight costs and zero waste to pollute our local waterways. As such, Cupolex fits the safe, sustainable, and economic design brief given to Boss Projects Group for the Whitlam precinct.

The construction is intended to showcase design features that can be incorporated in housing being constructed in Canberra and in particular the new suburb of Whitlam.  It will be exciting to see the continued construction at the Whitlam display site, with further sustainable solutions such as green roofs and heat regeneration systems being incorporated into the dwellings. With over 2000 homes being built in Whitlam, Jon Barnes from the Suburban Land Agency hopes that builders and owners can see the effectiveness of responsible designs incorporating both sustainably sourced products and thermally efficient design.
